Water Sports
Sports played on, in, and under water are called as water sports. A large number of sports involve water and these sports are mostly popular in areas near sea beaches. A water sport is a form of recreation where the water is an essential aspect of the activity. Swimming, triathlon, modern pentathlon, rescue swimming, surf lifesaving, water basketball, water polo, synchronized swimming, fin swimming, water aerobics, water gymnastics, snorkeling, diving off springboards, synchronized diving, all are involved in water sports.
Under water sports involve scuba diving, free-diving, underwater rugby, underwater hockey, underwater photography. Water sports are very exciting, full of adventure. On water sports include, skurfing, barefoot water skiing, boating, bodyboarding, canoeing, canoe polo, dragon boat racing, fishing, hydroplane racing, jet sprint boat racing, kayaking, kite surfing on flat water, motor boating, offshore powerboat racing, rafting, parasailing, wakeboarding, wake skating, windsurfing, and yachting.
Almost all water based sports activities involve swimming their integral part. Water sports can be played in ponds, lakes, rivers, ocean and pools. The important thing is the water depth, which is usually marked in pools but in natural bodies of water, it is not indicated, so decide whether the location is safe for diving or swimming, you should check the depth of water.
Make sure it is free from the underwater obstructions. Water sports can be a great fun, if played safely. It is also significant to respect the power of nature. The strong waves, tides, and currents can easily overpower even the most experienced swimmers or players.
